All About the Empowerment project
The “Empowerment Project for Teenage School Dropouts and widows” envisions a future where the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals in society, particularly in the Central Region and urban poor communities, have the opportunity to reclaim their dignity, independence, and potential. This initiative is born out of a deep understanding of the complex challenges faced by teenage school dropouts and widows, challenges that are often interlinked with socio-economic disparities, cultural norms, and limited access to resources and opportunities.
Challenges addressed (1)
- Teenage School Dropouts: Young girls who leave school due to pregnancies face a daunting future. The interruption in their education not only impacts their personal development but also diminishes their prospects for financial independence, often perpetuating a cycle of poverty and marginalization.
Challenges addressed (2)
- Widows: The loss of a spouse often plunges widows into a vortex of economic hardship, social ostracization, and emotional turmoil. In regions plagued by poverty and unemployment, these challenges are magnified, leaving widows in a precarious position of vulnerability.
